Public Service Announcement The PAL Group continues to be a major conduit in the delivery of much-needed assistance to victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Visayas through its PAL Foundations Humanitarian Cargo Grant. To facilitate the grant of excess baggage allowance in relation to relief supplies as checked-in baggage, donor organizations may submit a written request to the PAL Foundation and are advised to send requests at least 48 hours before a flight. The grant covers flights within the domestic flight sector only. To date, PAL’s Humanitarian Cargo grant has already delivered more than 200,000 kilos of critical supplies and relief goods to affected areas. However, with the large volume of earlier requests for free airlift, the program has been temporarily put on hold due to lack of space but will resume as soon as the backlog is cleared. In the meantime, PAL Foundation will help course through urgent and critical requests for free airlift to partner government agencies who continue to airlift supplies to heavily affected provinces in Western Visayas. Government agencies, SEC-registered foundations, NGOs, non-profit, charitable, civic and religious organizations can still direct requests to the PAL Foundation at telephone numbers (02) 851-2980 or (02) 8526069 (telefax) or at [email protected]. The PAL Humanitarian Cargo Grant covers medicines, medical supplies, hygiene products/toiletries, undergarments, ready-to-eat products, and other nutritious foods, which cannot be readily sourced in the affected areas. Canned goods such as sardines, noodles, and bottled water are not included in the grant. The free airlift of cargo and the grant of excesss baggage allowance are both subject to space availability. For monetary donations, PAL accepts cash or check for its Yolanda relief and rebuild fund which can be delivered to the PAL Foundation Office at PAL Maintenance Base Complex Gate 1, Andrews Avenue, Nichols Pasay City, or deposited to the following accredited PNB bank account: 3833-4420-0037. Let us all continue to help Yolanda victims and rebuild.
