Public retirees will want to watch the activities related to the Governors tax reform plan presented yesterday. There is a provision, offered by the task force two years ago, related to the taxing of retirees pensions. The provision reads as follows: “Reduce retirement income exclusion for taxpayers with federal adjusted gross income over $80,000 and phase it out for adjusted gross income over $100,000.” We will be watching this closely and keeping you updated as tax reform legislation continues through the process.
