Queensland -- SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING -- UPDATE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for DAMAGING WIND For people in parts of the Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt Forecast Districts. Issued at 4:08 pm Tuesday, 1 October 2013. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Roma, Charleville, St George, Bollon, Mitchell and Goondiwindi. Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Channel Country district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED. Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
