Question: As many of you know Ive been reading a Fabulous book on history by John Roberts a well know historian. I read yesterday about the Upper Palaeolithic species. After reading how they only live till around 40 and by that stage or if they lived longer how their bodies were in terrible pain, arthritis, ground down teeth and the list goes on. I wondered why the Palaeo diet has taken off. From my understanding they ate a lot of meat and some vegetation. The men hunted and brought food back for the females and young. Other research I have done suggests that excess meat causes too much acid in your body, causing many problems including the increased pain from arthritis. After the Palaeolithic times with growing agriculture average life expectancy started to increase. So my question is why would We not look at what time in history that we had the longest lives with the least decease and eat like that?
