Question for the group: anyone have a perspective on alternatives to shipping human bodies through space? Ive been in dialog with a group of people who advocate a combination of digital personas and robotics instead of hauling the food, water, oxygen and life support systems for human biology on a long haul space flight. In addition they argue that human musculature would atrophy during a long flight, and also that radiation levels could prove lethal to human biology. Obviously, on the opposing side of the debate, digital personas dont exist at this point, and theres no clear proof that there ever will be a way to back up your mind / personality on a digital substrate. Id welcome informed commentary about this topic. Thanks.
