Question from one of our readers: I work in a general dental - TopicsExpress

Question from one of our readers: I work in a general dental practice and I am having a hard time when it comes to referring patients to the periodontist. At what point does your office refer a perio patient to the specialist? I know it varies case by case, but generally speaking, is it: if there are x many site with x mm pockets? After s/rp is done once/twice and not successful? I feel like I am working beyond my capabilities at times and feel we should be referring more, which basically never happens. Please leave your feedback/suggestions below.
