Question of the Day 9th April 2014 My 1 year old suffers from constipation. Shes had it really since she was just a few weeks old as she had to have a particular anti-reflux milk due to frequent vomiting. Sadly a side effect of this type of milk is constipation. At the time the HV and doctor suggested lactulose which we used for about 8 months. That eventually stopped working so she has been put on Movicol Paediatric. What I dont understand is she eats an awful lot of fruit and veg, she also drinks water as opposed to juice. My older child also suffered briefly with constipation but is fine now but my 1 year old just cant seem to get over it. She isnt on the anti-relux milk any more so doesnt have any reason to be constipated and the doctor doesnt seem to be particularly concerned but I dont like having to constantly give her medication. Has anyone had any similar experience and is it something they just grew out of or did you find a solution? Thank you x
