Questions for those running for State School Board positions (that I would ask) -Anti CC: Would you vote for any legislation that supports Common Core, or would further implement its Utah Core Math and ELA standards that currently exist in our state? Why/Why not -Pro CC: Would you vote for any legislation that would further prohibit the implementation of Common Core and/or remove the standards from our state? Why/Why not -Both: Do you feel that truly challenging standards and quality curricula are what Utah students deserve? Do you genuinely feel the Common Core standards meet that definition? Why/Why not and -(my favorite) for Both: Many people believe that by going through the National Gov.s Assoc. (NGA) and CCSSO that the governors and the federal government (via the Dept. of Ed.) have violated the rights of the State (and the Parents to dictate their childs education) and the explicit laws prohibiting a national curriculum, by encouraging the adoption of Common Cores standards and testing. Do you agree or disagree?
