RACEDAY #13 MARINA BAY STREET CIRCUIT – SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX Singapore Grand Prix is a unique event on Formula 1 Calendar. With its night race format and racing right in the middle of the Singapore city makes it one of the most dramatic and atmospheric event on Formula 1 Calendar. It’s the only total night race on the calendar. The city’s famous skyline provides truly a spectacular backdrop to the event. Using public roads around the Marina Bay area, the circuit is lit with powerful lighting system to replicate daylight condition. The Marina Bay track layout is tricky; one of the slowest circuits on the calendar, and the punishing heat and humidity provides an extra challenge for the drivers and cars. With 23 corners layout and high temperature and humidity track condition offers almost no rest to drivers. The circuit is a tough test for full two hours. Singapore has the highest pit lane speed loss of the season and has high chances of safety car coming in the race. Like at every street circuit it’s very difficult to pass other cars there, so starting the race as high as possible on the grid is very an important factor in order to get good result.
