RE-POST: Margaret Norton Weller reports as follows: The official unemployment rate in the Eastern Cape increased by 1% between the first and second quarters and by 0.2% year-on-year (y/y), according to figures released this morning by Statistics South Africa. This probably the main reason why crime has increased so much in Port Elizabeth. WHO AGREES WITH THIS? I personally dont feel it makes much difference - as the criminal finds that the pickings from a life of crime far out way the salary they could earn in a normal job.
