REALLY really really bad advice Instead put your kitchen waste on to a separated compost bin - add the bedding from your chicken house a great activated brown material, make lots of wonderful compost to grow more veggies. Do NOT feed it to the chickens first - you get very little volume back, and most of what you will give the birds will be very low quality food. If you are giving your eggs to anyone else whether for money or not, it is illegal to use kitchen scraps - https://gov.uk/supplying-and-using-animal-by-products-as-farm-animal-feed Rice, potatoes, pasta, grotty bits of old veggies are all of very little value to your birds, will fill their crops up so they cannot take in the good food they need, so can eventually cause nutritional starvation. Good free range, where birds are getting to fresh grasses, herbs, seeds, bugs and grubs is the best complement to Layers Pellets. If you want to feed good veggies and fruit, do so just not your leftovers.
