RECOMMENDED: 2 Days in Paris (Julie Delpy 2007) 2 Days in Paris is a romantic comedy drama, written, directed, edited and starring July Delpy, who also wrote the films soundtrack. French-born Marion (Delpy) and her boyfriend Jack (Adam Goldberg) live in New York but have taken a holiday to Venice to rekindle their relationship, followed by a trip to Paris to meet up with Marions parents. Whilst the idea of the holiday was have a romantic getaway and improve their relationship, the couple seems to quibbling all the time and having come to Paris, where they need to deal with Marions very French and slightly eccentric parents (played by Delpys real-life parents), only seems to have made things worse. On top of that, they arent too big on Americans and Marion keeps running into a variety of ex-boyfriends, making this Paris pit-stop quite a challenge for the neurotic and surly Jack, who is experiencing some serious culture-shock. Clearly influenced by her participation in the Before trilogy by Richard Linklater, 2 Days in Paris (and its sequel 2 Days in New York) also deals with a young couple and their relationship issues but presents the affair in a far more light-hearted and comedic manner. Delpy and her parents obviously have natural chemistry on screen and Adam Goldberg is fantastic as the sarcastic and hypochondriacal Jack. If you like Delpy in the Before trilogy, both 2 Days movies are well worth checking out as distant comedic cousins. https://youtube/watch?v=7wRbUFs7Ll8
