RECORD SET WITH WORLD CUP SQUADS FINALISED Posted on: Thu 05 Jun 2014 With FIFA today (Thursday) releasing the confirmed 23-man squads for the World Cup which commences in a weeks time, there is set to be a record level of Chelsea participation in the tournament. There are 17 of our players selected, including Frank Lampard, whose Chelsea contract does not expire until the end of this month, and David Luiz. Although Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Brazilian, the move is still pending him agreeing personal terms with PSG and passing a medical examination. The 17 beats our previous highest number of players at a World Cup finals which was 15 in 2006 in Germany.
