REMEMBER YOUR TOOLS Today, many of us are in prison – prison of poverty, sickness, just name it. What prison are you in? How do you cope? Remember your tools. When a farmer goes to the farm, he would always go with his tools against the challenges on his road to the farm. For example, when a farmer is on his way to the farm and a tree falls across the road, he cannot be stopped because he has his tools to clear the way. However, a farmer without tools can be stopped on the way. The tools and instruments of a man of faith are patience, perseverance and endurance. Are you using yours? Patience is coupled with faith in inheriting the promises of God. I mean, faith and patience inherit the promises of the Father for your life (Hebrews 6:12). The first lesson in patience is learning to count your trials as joy. The only way to withstand hard times is to stand with Christ – with patience, perseverance and endurance. When you face trials and hard times, you can ‘count it all joy’ if you add faith and patience (James 1:2-3). However, the greatest mistakes will happen because of impatience. Instead of adding faith, we begin to add alternatives. We look for shortcuts to get out of our predicament and beat the gun, thereby changing the course of the history of our lives. Be patient and let God answer your questions on His schedule, not yours.
