RENEGADES! I just received an email from one of my Social worker friends at a hospital here in the D.C. area. this is what she said: Hi Tom, Do you ever help with a child’s funeral expenses? One of our Neuro-Oncology patients----a beautiful 4-year old little girl died here on May 22nd. after a 2 ½ year battle with a recurrent disseminated Anaplastic Ependymoma. She had spent a great deal of time in the hospital over the course of her treatment but recently had been doing a little better on oral chemotherapy. Unfortunately, she got a very bad pneumonia and died on a ventilator 2 days after her admission. It was a shock to her mother------a single mom---as it is her only child. Mom had been working full time outside the home when she was first diagnosed but was forced to resign given all of the childs needs. She is an absolutely remarkable mother but has really struggled financially with minimal support from the father and extended family. I had told Mom that I thought I could get some money to help with the funeral from an Organization that had previously offered $2000 for families “in need”, however they have not returned my phone calls or e-mails. Sadly, the little girl is still in our morgue and the funeral home will not perform her service without payment or guarantee of payment up front. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. STILLBRAVE IS GOING TO COVER THESE EXPENSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEN CONSIDERING YOUR CHARITY DOLLARS PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE CONSIDER STILLBRAVE! Talk IS bullshit!! and so is this!!!
