REVISED INFORMATION ABOUT LAWN MOWING Rising View will be mowing any lawn (front, side or back yard) that is more than 3 high starting next week. This will continue all year long. If your yard is mowed by Rising Views Lawn Maintenance Contractor, US Grounds, there will be a charge of $45 (they charge us $45, we charge each home $45). This fee will not be waived if your home is selected. The US Grounds Supervisor will be deciding which lawns get mowed. He will document the address and have the crew mow it. We must keep the yards looking nice and up to standards. To avoid this weekly fee, please mow your lawn weekly or hire someone to do it for you. If you have a deployed spouse and need help mowing, please call us and we can help you. Rising View mows the vacant homes, TLFs and dorm homes once a week. It is not the same day every week, but they are mowed weekly. The common areas, fields and roadsides are mowed bi-weekly. We have already applied weed and feed to our lawns. Also, it is a great time of year for you to apply weed and feed to your lawn. This will kill the weeds. If you do this and the weeds die leaving dead spots in your yard, please plant grass seed. You can get free grass seed from our Self Help Store (maintenance department). The fescue seed we bought will need watered only 2 times per week. You should apply weed and feed twice a year to prevent weeds. Please read the weed and feed bottle for directions especially if you have a pet. If we have to treat your lawn for weeds, the fee is $25-35. Just for clarification, the Resident Handbook states: Lawn mowing - Grass will be cut weekly to maintain a height of 3 to 4 and watered regularly during the growing season of April through November. You are responsible for your lawn area 50 feet out from your house and halfway between adjoining units. We ask that you keep grass along sidewalks and around trees and other immovable objects neatly trimmed and edged to enhance the overall appearance of our community. Landscaping – All landscaping/flower beds should be kept neatly trimmed and weed free. Only a clear or black vinyl edging will be approved to be put in around the landscaping areas. Once the landscaping has been planted, you are not allowed to add anymore bushes or trees. How do I get rid of all the yellow and white dandelions and other weeds? We suggest you apply a weed and feed herbicide that kills the weeds and feeds the lawn. You can purchase this at Target, Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. It is very affordable and only needs applied twice a season! You can buy liquid or granules. You can probably treat the yard in 20 minutes! Rising View just applied weed and feed to our common areas and now you need to do the same! Dont have time to mow yourself?
