RWANDANS IN SUDAN DONATE RWF55M TO DISABLED EX-COMBATANTS The Rwandan Community in the Republic of Sudan on Wednesday contributed to Rwanda Demobilisation and Reintegration Commission a $78,000 (about Rwf55 million) to support Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA) veterans living with disabilities. The event took place at RDRC headquarters in Kigali. Speaking during the function, the Chairperson of Rwandan Community in the Sudan, Sulaiman Kalisa, said the donation aims at thanking and supporting RPA veterans for helping liberate Rwanda. He said the donation was a contribution by Rwandan international staff and Rwandan peacekeepers working in the Sudan over the last two years. “This is to recognise the veterans living with disabilities for their sacrifices during the liberation struggle,” Kalisa said. newtimes.co.rw/section/article/2014-12-26/184406/
