Rafferty Cup Triumph. St Michaels Rafferty Cup squad came through - TopicsExpress

Rafferty Cup Triumph. St Michaels Rafferty Cup squad came through some dreadful conditions at the Dub pitches in Belfast to lift a bright, new Rafferty Cup for the first time but not before giving a loud but rather sodden crowd of supporters a severe attack of communal heart failure. A dominant St Michaels cruised to a nine point lead at half time only to throw it away in the third quarter and allow Loreto to draw even at 1.10 (SM) to 2.7 (LC). However, having seen a number of promising attacks come to nothing, we then succeeded in putting over three more points to take control in the final minutes and run out 1.13 to 2.8 winners. Overall, a great performance with some lovely pieces of team football. Congratulations to coaches Brian Taggart and Philip McKenna and their squad on a fantastic win on a truly awful night.
