This time, Ill get straight to the point: House Republicans intransigence on this issue is doing terrible damage to the economic security and health of families across the country. I know what its like not to know where your next meal will come from. My family spent more than two years living in an abandoned gas station without electricity or running water when I was a kid. This is what can happen without any income, and thats what House Republicans have taken from families by refusing to renew this lifeline. We need it back, now.
