Recipe of Gujrati Dal (serves 4 people) Ingredients: 1 small bowl Tur dal 2 TB sp Peanuts (optional) 1 small Tomato (chopped) 1 green chilly (cut) ½ TB sp Ginger paste ½ T sp Turmeric powder ½ T sp Red chilli powder 1 T sp Dhaniya Jeera powder (cumin and coriander) 1 TB sp sugar ½ TB sp lemon juice Salt as per taste For Tadka/ Baghar: 1 TB sp oil ½ Cumin seeds ½ Mustard seeds Some curry leaves 3 to 4 Cloves (lavang) For Garnishing: Chopped Coriander Preparation: Pressure cook tur dal and peanuts by adding required quantity of water up to 4 to 5 whistles. Transfer this boiled dal in another vessel. Whisk it and add water (about a 300 ml). Now add all the ingredients mentioned above. Mix well and boil this for 15 to 20 minutes on a low to medium flame. To give tadka, heat oil, add all the ingredients mentioned above and pour it over cooked dal. Cook for another 5 minutes. Garnish with coriander and serve it with boiled Rice, Chapattis and any Sabzi of your choice. Happy eating!
