EDUCATION DEPARTMENT: CHANDIGARH ADMINISTRATION RECRUITMENT NOTICE FOR THE POSTS OF JUNIOR BASIC TEACHERS (JBT) AND NURSERY TEACHERS (NIT) Education Department Chandigarh Administration invites online applications from eligible candidates to fill up 489 posts of JBT (Junior Basic Teachers) and 103 posts of Nursery Teachers on regular basis as per following details in the pay scale of Rs. 10,300-34,800+Grade Pay 4200 (With initial start of Rs.16,290) plus allowances sanctioned by Chandigarh Administration from time to time :- Junior Basic Teachers (JBTs) & Nursery Teachers Sr. No. Post GEN OBC* SC* Total PH** Sports** ESM** 1 JBT 235 177 77 489 13 21 56 2 Nursery Teachers 55 32 16 103 3 5 12 * Including backlog for JBT (OBC-62), NTI (OBC-8). ** Candidates appointed against Sports, PH & ESM quota will consume the posts from the respective category to which they belong i.e. GEN/SC/OBC ESSENTIALQUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POST OF JBT and NIT For the post of JBT (i) Graduate or its equivalent from a recognised University with 40% marks in aggregate and at least 50% marks at 10+2 level. (ii) Diploma in Basic Teacher Training of not less than 2 years duration recognized by NCTE,with at least 50% marks in aggregate. OR JBT Certificate/Diploma of not less than 2 years duration with at least 50 % marks recognized by Chandigarh Administration. Note: - Pass in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the CBSENew Delhi applicable for the teachers teaching class I to V in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE is essential for the post of JBT. For the post of Nursery Teacher [A] (i) Senior Sec. School Certificate (10 + 2) or Intermediate or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate and (ii) Diploma or certificate in NTI or its equivalent from an Institute recognized by NCTE of not less than 2 years duration with at least 50% marks OR [B] (i) Senior Sec. School Certificate (10 + 2) or Intermediate or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate and (ii) NTI certificate/Diploma of not less than two years duration with at least 50% marks recognized by Chandigarh Administration. The age limit for the posts of JBT is 21-30 years and for Nursery Teachers is 18-27 years. Age is to be calculated as on 01-01-2014. AGE RELAXATION (i) SC, OBC, Ex-Servicemen or any other category will be given age relaxation as per the rules/instructions issued by Chandigarh Administration in this regard. Under OBC category, candidates of those castes will be given benefits which are included in the Central list and Union Territory, Chandigarh list. (ii) Contract teachers, Guest teachers and SSA Teachers working in Govt. schools of Chandigarh will be given age relaxation equal to the period rounded to nearby month they worked in Govt. Schools under Chandigarh Administration. (iii) No candidate will be accorded age relaxation and benefit of reservation unless he/she attaches the requisite certificate issued by competent authority at the time of document verification. MODE OF SELECTION 1. Two objective type tests of 100 Marks each will be conducted. Candidates will be selected on the basis of total marks obtained in two tests. Qualifying marks for each test will be 40% for SC category candidates and 45% for all other candidates. No interview will be conducted. There will be no negative marking. 2. Written test consisting of Multiple choice questions will be conducted as under:- PAPER-l(MORNING SESSION) (Duration 2 Hours) Total Total Marks Multiple choice questions having 20 questions Questions each on English, Hindi, Mental Ability, General 100 100 Awareness and Teaching Aptitude. PAPER-2(EVENING SESSION) (Duration 2 Hours) Multiple choice questions having 25 questions 100 100 each on Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Punjabi. Level of questions will be as per qualification prescribed for the post. SELECTION PROCEDURE 1. After the conduct of written test answer key will be uploaded on website as per schedule for submission of objections by the candidates. 2. Marks obtained by the candidates in written test will be uploaded on the web site. 3. Merit list prepared on the basis of marks in written test will be uploaded on the web site and on the basis of said merit; candidates will be called for document verification. List of selected candidates will be released after checking of eligibility conditions. PROCEDUREFORSUBMISSION OF ONLINEAPPLICATIONS 1. Applications can be submitted only ONLINE from 03.11.2014 (09.00 AM onwards) to25.11.2014 (upto 5.00 PM)on the website i.e. recruitment-portal.in 2. Application fee (non-refundable) amounting to Rs. 500/-(Rs. 250 in case of SC)will be accepted through online mode/challan. Detailed instructions for deposit of fee are available on the website. Candidates belonging to SC category must ensure that they have valid certificate issued by competent authority in their name. At the time of verification of documents, if, it is found that SCcertificate is not valid, their candidature will be considered under general category after receipt of difference of fee as applicable for candidates of general category. 3. To submit the application, candidate has to log in, on the website i.e. recruitment-portal.in and click on the link Application for the post of JBT/NTI. 4. Any correction in the particulars can be made by the candidate himself/herself on the website up to 25.11.2014 upto 5:00 PM. For this purpose candidate has to log in by entering registration no. and password. No correction can be made by the candidate after closing date. 5. After submission of online application, registration form will be generated. Candidate has to take out two printouts of the registration form and the same has to be brought on the date of verification of documents (if name exists in Merit list) along with original and photo copy of all documents. Print out of Online application is NOT to be submitted either personally or through post. 6. Candidates are advised not to disclose password to anybody. 7. All the notices and updates will be uploaded on the website i.e. recruitment- portal.in; as such, candidates are advised to visit the site on regular basis. Before applying for the post of JBT/NTI, candidate must ensure that he/she fulfils all the eligibility conditions mentioned in the advertisement.
