Relegating the sacred to that which is special, to moments, people, activities or things we see as separate and exceptional is part of what has allowed us to stop caring for all aspects of the world, is how we have lost track of what we are and the meaning embedded in every moment of our lives.~Oriah Mountain Dreamer from THE CALL Of course, we often set aside time & space to create a sacred container, a threshold between the secular & the sacred, & that can be helpful for shifting awareness. But. . . it is also a worthwhile practise to see the sacred in the everyday. So today, as we sit on a bus, or walk through an office or store, as we cook a meal or vacuum the floor, lets just gently ask ourselves with real curiosity: Where is the sacred here? -open to the possibility that the divine, the Mystery, God, the Great Mother could be found in the most mundane of tasks and in ordinary places.
