Remembering Eric With the centenary of WW1 approaching I picked - TopicsExpress

Remembering Eric With the centenary of WW1 approaching I picked just one name at random from one war memorial in Nottingham, England to see what I could discover. After 12 months research, and having traced his nearest living relative, I have discovered more of the life of Corporal William Eric Woodward (1899-1919) Durham Light Infantry that I could ever have expected. Following his death his Scout master presented, in his memory, an album of photographs to his mother. The photographs detail the formation of the 1st Caledonian Scout troop at Blackwood, Nottingham from 1909. Thus the post I send is remembering Eric pictured below with the 24th Nottingham Scouts (still based at the same location to this day). Eric 2nd left back row with the 24th and Baden Powell 1915. If any scout publication wants the full story and futher images please contact me.
