Repeating it again, LOYALTY is the first condition of friendship; of every deal; of every relationship worth the effort, the invested time and resources. Loyalty here is not the undying blind insistence on being with the other on all matters (for the perils of this life would make that too expensive and impossible to be practicable). But loyalty here is simply that unspoken comprehension of the next person that willingly lends itself in gestures of sacrifice to please without compulsion; that ease that allows two seperate souls to come so close as to merge as one in so many things -willingly. That willingness to let the other soul into you and you into them, willingly. That unspoken trust that given ideal imperatives your partner will treat you fairly AT ALL TIMES. Such is the sole condition one can comfortably find in souls and with all innocence declare them friends -be they admirers, mates, lovers or blood. Not love, not altruism but loyalty to me, is the primary condition in every relationship -worth the effort.
