Repost from the thebarbellwod California Strength Adjust your movement for your body type. Taller athletes with long femurs, should look to achieve a steeper back angle at the knee. The higher center of gravity will smooth out the pull so the bar path naturally becomes more vertical. A steeper back angle allows the athlete to use a hamstring stretch to accelerate the bar into the power position. The goal for these athletes is to apply force over a longer time horizon. After all, they have higher to pull and longer to drop. Shorter athletes should maintain a less extreme angle at the knee or they risk looping the bar. We still want to see the shoulders in advance of the bar but no where near as extreme. Athletes with shorter femurs tend to have great mobility and can afford to use more quad in the pull
