In consonance to R.A. 7079 which is “AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION OF CAMPUS JOURNALISM AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES” and DepEd Memorandum 221, s. 2012 which reiterates that school paper is a requirement in joining School Press Conference at all levels, this Division will hold the 2014 Summer School Paper Writeshop with a theme, “Transformation and Leadership through Campus Journalism and Academic Excellence”. 2. The training aims to provide adequate skills and knowledge in journalism and the love for writing. It also envisions to empower and develop transformative leadership among student journalists and teachers. 3. The dates of the school paper writeshop is on April 16 to 18, 2014. The venue will still have to be identified. 4. Participants to this training are teachers in English and Filipino (2 for English and 2 for Filipino), Grade V-VI pupils, and Grade 9 and 4th year high school students (3 pupils or students per grade level). 5. Best teachers in English and Filipino in the elementary schools and secondary schools shall be chosen to attend in the training. While, pupils who excel in the two learning areas must be trained in the event as future campus journalists. 6. Participants are expected to bring their materials such as ballpen, notebooks, papers, cameras, dictionaries, grammar books, and other reading materials such as news papers and magazines. 7. Exhibit of best practices and produced paper during the writeshop shall be awarded and recognized. 8. Lecturers are legitimate journalists and broadcasters recognized in Lanao del Sur and through out Mindanao. 9. Registration fees of Four Hundred Pesos (P400.00) per participant will defray expenses for hand-outs, certificates, food and snacks of the participants, and honorarium of the speakers and faciitators. 10. In order to identify the number of participants, all participating schools has to submit their pre-registration form on or before April 13, 2014 to Supvr. Waisah S.
