Review #207: Thor: The Dark World Game of Thors. The God of Thunder returns for his first post-Avengers vehicle in Marvels Phase 2. Already an improvement on the original, actually creating a plot rather than passing it off as an extended trailer, and upping the action. Hemsworth returns to the hammer-wielding heros shoes, continuing to bellow his dialogue with gusto. Tom Hiddleston as Loki again returns, this time with his sardonic charm on full blast (Ta-da(!)), while Hiddleston portrays him as genuinely pained at the death of a major character, improving on his big-bad status in Thor and Avengers. That status is held by former Ninth Doctor Christopher Eccelstons Malekith who looks the part, but is otherwise a by-the-books villain. Game Of Thrones veteran Alan Taylor helms the sequel that boast equal levels of Avengers wit, but not as much originality. Be sure to look out for a fun cameo from Captain America, and the first post-credits sting setting up Guardians Of The Galaxy. VERDICT: 3/5
