Rice Cooker as a Food Warmer When families are big we tend to buy a rice cooker. When my son with us and in-laws used to visit frequently and we were having a gala time with friends, there was a need to have a rice cooker. With passage of time when children leave for studies and gradually the cooking needs shrink to preparing food for two only, this big rice cooker becomes a waste. Suddenly I find this rice cooker to be useful to keep the food warm for hours together! I put water in it and load it with food in separate containers before covering it with a big steel vessel. As the steel vessels circumference matches with the rice cookers, it simply rests on the top of Rice Cooker, looking like a big CHEF!!! Switch on the rice cooker till the water comes to a boil in COOK mode and thereafter bring it back to WARM mode. Thereafter the food remains hot for hours together. I find it useful when we plan to go out for the entire and I prepare the food in the morning itself. When we return in the night our Garma Garam Food is ready, which we enjoy. Hope this tip would be useful to my viewers also!!! ----------------------------------------------- P.S Incidentally the Steel Vessel is also of yester-years in which we used to boil milk for the entire extended family. That disused vessel also complimented the Rice cooker to make this Food Warmer Best out of Waste from gayatrivantillu
