Robinho is reportedly closer to joining Santos after accepting a pay cut and organising Milan friendlies. The Brazilian striker has made it clear he wants a return to his former club, but negotiations over both the transfer fee and personal terms have long been disputed. However, according to Brazilian media UOL Esporte, the situation is nearing a breakthrough with both player and club backing down, as reported on Football Italia. Robinho would be prepared to lower his wage demands after a Santos representative warned he had to "get back to reality." Milan are also closer to accepting the €8 million bid if it includes a friendly match in Brazil, with the full proceeds going to the Rossoneri. The Italian club’s vice president Adriano Galliani has warned he will not sign any other players until the squad has been reduced, so selling the 29-year-old is seen as an imperative.
