Rocky Streets in (Duplicities) by Glen Rice; 16th Posting. Its time for me to meet Agent Billings. This time, our meeting place is a small Italian cafe. We dont see Agent Billings, so we order coffee while we wait for him. I was about to give him a call when I see him approaching us ... he looks like he has a lot on his mind. I cant stay long; Im right in the middle of something unrelated to what were working on ... lets make this quick. I jump right in on it; We need to know if you can find out when an opposition leader for President Bashar Assads ouster is arriving here in New York City? We think that the imposter of John Manning is targeting that representative; knowing his arrival would be very helpful to us. Ive already heard a little something about it; Ill dig around and find the date; it is not common knowledge, but I dont believe its a secret either. Ive been having our imposter John Manning watched at his place of residence. Ive found nothing suspicious or anyone paying close attention to his brother, Tim Manning. Id like to get back and check out the real John Manning again, all I saw was some guy watching TV ... and someone else I couldnt see the face of, sitting in a lounge chair not making a move, which I thought at the time, was unusual. As soon as time allows; Ill check that out again ... Ill take Farley with me this time. Okay, good; when I get the information Ill phone you right away ... you and Farley be careful, we have a lot on our plates. I think we all do this time around; I still have a stalker tailing me ... by the way, the stalker is some kind of Martial Arts person. Actually; my stalker helped me, by taking out two men chasing me. Agent Billings gets a weird look on his face; Be real careful, Rocky; it looks like your stalker wants to be the only one hurting you ... thats not good. I get a call that the raid on the house where all the burner phones were located at, went successfully. Theyre bringing three different guys that were there managing the phones. Get this; each phone had its own small box with a notepad with an updated log of all important conversations on it. For example, if it was a Writer; there would be the Writers name, title of book, number of pages, designs discussed for book covers; amount of patsy money involved ... tons of details on each victim. The details show the patience that the scammers had ... there were some nibbles and bites as far back as two years ago. The scammers would pass the victims test in some way, and then the victim would take a bigger bite, so that the scammers could hook the victim a little more. Eventually, the victim would take the full hook, the whole line; and even the sinker. The scammers are all related with the same last name of Farr; with given names of Matthew, Mark, and Luke; all names taken from the Bible; the irony of that alone riles me, considering what they were doing. One of them, is playing the part of Sam A. Inugo; the trusting publisher. Since I know their game, I catch on quick to the acronym of that name of Sam A. Inugo to mean; SAM (scam) (allure) (milk) (and) (in) (u) (go). Just on that alone, I want to hang these guys for stealing dreams and life-savings of others ... the money grubbing; bloodsucking leeches need severe punishment. It could be; they all are playing the part of Sam A. Inugo and they keep certain victims to themselves; divvy up the workload later. Ill need to watch my temper in the interrogating room, because Ive gotten to know Terrance Clarke; Ive seen what this has done to him; the grief he feels of losing a grandson; a death, which he blames himself for. We have all three men in different holding rooms waiting on us. Theyre all going down for scamming, but I have to somehow seek out the killer of Eugene Clarke. We still have Gunther Snyder locked away yet too; and Im thinking, it just might be a shortcut to the killer, if I go through Gunther first ... hell realize I have all three Farr brothers in jail; that theyre all going down without a doubt, for scamming people out of their dreams and money ... what I really want, are the one or ones, responsible for Eugene Clarkes death. I walk into the holding room where Gunther Snyder is. You and I are going to play together nicely, or its going to get ugly from here on out. We just nailed your cohorts; all three of them ... Mathew, Mark, and Luke; if theres a John, were going to get him too. Youre going down for a lot of things today; beginning with distortion, breaking and entering, a murder cover up ... I have a list as long as my arm ... you are going away for a very long time, theres no doubt about it. There is however; a chance that you can make a better deal for yourself; it all lies within your grasp and the clock is ticking; you have five minutes to make the deal of your lifetime. If you know something about the killing of Eugene Clarke, you better start talking now. Suppose I do know something; what do I get out of it? Ive checked you out and you dont have any priors; up till now. Lets start with you abetting a killer by misleading authorities; you want that to go away? Yes, I wasnt there when it happened; I only heard them arguing about killing the nosy kid afterwards. Mark and Luke were upset with Mathew for losing his cool and killing the kid. I was given a wallet to throw down, at a well known bar floor, while they said they were going to put the kid in the dumpster. Mathew gave me a hundred to leave all contents in the wallet. Thats it? You want leniency for what you just told me? Its all hearsay, no solid evidence for crying out loud ... I thought you would have something solid. Dont do this to me ... you said we could work together! I can see Gunther Snyders mind is thinking desperately hard ... wait, wait; wait ... the kid must have had something that would have incriminated Mathew. Why do you say that? Because; Mathew folded up a couple of computer size papers and placed those in the inside pocket of his suit vest, then he says; without these, no one will be able to trace this kid to any of us. Whats the color of suit he was wearing? It was a light brown suit with a matching vest. It just so happens, hes wearing a light brown suit again today. This just might be your day Gunther; if it works out, youll only get a few months, a school for rehabilitation and a short parole ... you think you can be rehabilitated? Hell, yes; Ill even promise to go to church and walk with the Lord. Dont start making promises you wont keep; because Ill be watching you Gunther Snyder ... making sure your treating Alice and her daughter right...................................................
