Roll20 D&D Starter set session rundown: As you know, our group of heroes, the Bushcraft Geeks Interwebz Group 1, is stalled due to scheduling conflicts. This has given me time to do a practice run. I decided to run a group of random people through the D&D Starter Set on Roll20. I had everyone choose a stock character to play. One guy was from England, one guy was from Melbourne, Australia, one was from St. Louis, one was from New Orleans and the other guy didnt say where he was from but he is in central time zone. We played 2 hours. They got right down to business. Many goblins were slain and one of the boss monsters from the first encounter. The group was fairly clever at how they solved problems and they were thus successful. We quit with them halfway through the first adventure. Everyone was eager to play another session so we set a play time for tomorrow at 1PM. From my perspective it took me about 5 minutes to get my head to where it needed to be to run an adventure. Then something weird happened and I didnt have to think about it any more. Everything just happened smoothly and with a lot of fun. I let the characters pretty much do whatever they wanted and tried to keep the rules governing things fairly realistic and fair. There were a few times where people got disconnected and we had to wait a little, but it wasnt much and I thought the technology was pretty amazing, given that we were playing from around the world. Tune in tomorrow for an update, same bat time, same bat channel.
