Romans 13 declares that Christians must obey established authority, That was written by the Apostle Paul to the early Christians in Rome who were being severely persecuted by Caesar even tortured and fed to wild animals in the Coluseum for entertainment of Romans. SO in America the established authority is the PEOPLE by the Constitution through their elected representatives by majority rule. There is no provision in the Constitution for rioting, burning or violence. The caution in Romans 13 is that you will make yourself the enemy of God if you oppose established authority. My suggestion to the Christians in Ferguson, MO is to work to re-establish the rule of law. The law says that citizens are allowed to exercise freedom of speech and the freedom of assembly but NOT violence. Be courageous, black ministers and white ministers, to speak with authority the Gospel of Christ to bring peace and then with deliberation to consider change if needed. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the Children of God.
