Ron Sloan Looking for a little advice... Im in my late 50s, and have been playing drums for close to 45 years...and am beginning to experience significant hearing loss. Ive tried some inexpensive Vic Firth plugs, but find they dont allow me to hear the rest of band well enough, and I wind up taking them out. Wondering if I need a better quality ear plug, a monitor closer to me, or in-ear monitors. If I keep going the way I am, Im afraid I wont be able to hear the birds sings when Im 70. Do any of you older (or younger) drummers have any thoughts? Thanks.
