Runner Runner isnt all that good either. Ive watched plenty of gambling/mob/etc. films before, and every time, the protagonist is someone you end up rooting for. Justin Timberlakes character is not that guy. He has a couple of cool moments, but thats about it. Ben Affleck feels like the only light in the entire film, and he does a good job being the character he plays. But hes not putting on a stellar enough performance that rescues the film from the mediocrity it is. Theres nothing about this film that strikes me as ultimately original or interesting; added to that, Im almost through with it already knowing how its going to end. Ben Affleck fans should watch it at least once just for him, but anyone else... I wouldnt recommend it.
