S.Charuhasan. email: Charuhasan@yahoo The Publication of Sheik Mujabir Rahman’s comments on the book by Mr. A.G.Noorani titled “Revisiting Hydrabad Police action” especially after the significant Hindu leaning Franchise chose Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. The clear majority by the voters was according to me was the person of Narendra Modi rather than the institution called Barathiya Janatha Party. The recalling of Hyderabad police action sounds to me like recalling Malikapur’s ravage of south India when the Tamil Brahmins went into protection of Kerala kingdom. I am not sure if Mr. Nooraani has any faith in Democracy where the Hindu majority of India treats are at least attempted treat al equal. The young Mr. Noorani believed in democracy and sought all reprisals before court of law. As we grow old our fear of death drives us to religious fanaticisms. I find this among Hindus too. I live in a state where the Hindus went to extremes of breaking Hindu Idols in the 1950’s. It was not done by Muslims. It was done by progressive Hindus themselves. I find that there is a reversal where the idols which were broken in 1950 s growing 60 feet tall in 21st century. The population of Andhra Pradesh before the bifurcation is reaching 10 crores. The Indian democratic process of forming a government of the people started in 1947. Then Kashmir was ruled by a Hindu King with Islamic majority in population. Nizam state was ruled by Hyderabad of Nizam with a Hindu majority of population. It was around the same time up north in Bastar the Tribal fought the Indian police. 15 thousand Razakars were the armed men of Nizam who wrecked havoc to the common man. If police action was not taken it would have become another Afghanistan. Mr. Noorani knows that Muslims live in greater peace in India than Pakistan or Afghanistan. Hyderabad is one place where a Muslim leader proposed that if the police look the other way Hindus can be put in place. It is to India’s credit that the three top stars in Bombay are Muslims. They did not survive on a 17% community support. Our secularism may have its pitfalls but it is the first step to humanism that prevails in many western states and not Just Christianity that is and was the majority. Mr. A.G.Noorani’s book in defence of Razakkars and the insinuation of “Police Action” is the effort of a literate on firing up religious riots by some of us near the grave digging some for the rest of the humans. charuhasan
