SCAM ALERT from Sheriff of Desoto County Bill Rasco Holidays seem to bring out the best in people and we see the worst sometimes as well,said Sheriff Rasco,as he advised of a SCAM taking place in north Mississippi including Desoto County. This SCAM occurs when the caller, yes the caller, by phone request money be put on a green card The request is being made in the name of The Sheriff or some others in County government. The request soon turns into a threat of an arrest. There is NO PROCESS we have that comes close to this method of operation said Rasco If you have experienced or you should experience anything that you are suspicious of ,please call 911 and report the activity to our dispatcher. Be assured ,our investigators are following up on information right now and we will move as quickly as we can to bring this to a close and have these criminals spend the holidays with us!
