SEEK DAILY (NBC) Thursday, June 6 1 Chronicles 29:10-18 GIVING THANKS AND PRAISES TO GOD “Praise be to you; O LORD, God of our father Israel ....” 1 Chronicles 29:10b NIV Someone once said, ‘The poorest of all men are those who have nothing to praise God for in life.’ David in the text had collected offering to be used for the building of the temple, he came before the Lord and rejoiced greatly because God had moved the hearts of men to give towards the building of the temple. And in the full view of the congregation he gave praise and thanksgiving to God. He recognised and appreciated God’s greatness and faithfulness. He thus offered quality praise to God because he was overwhelmed by God’s glorious deeds. When we reflect on God’s majesty and goodness to us, it should place a demand on us to give Him praise and thanksgiving. We should also feel an overwhelming sense of wonder before the Lord. His acts in our lives are signs of His immeasurable power. And these unlimited power and unspeakable majesty should propel us to always give Him praise.
