SONGS I WISH I WROTE This Will Be Our Year ~ The Zombies Written by Chris White, 1967 In honor of Colin Blunstones birthday, heres another entry in SONGS I WISH I WROTE. Its been way too long since Ive posted a song and I thought this was a good way to start it back up. I got into The Zombies around 1983 or so, through my friend, Marc Aversa. Marc was very influential to my developing teenage musical tastes, and was always suggesting bands to listen to. Im very thankful for his suggestion to listen to The Zombies. I grew to like this band so much, I consider them my 2nd favorite British Invasion band (The Beatles would be 1st.) Colin Blunstone is the singer and his voice is so ethereal and very effective in portraying emotion. The Zombies only had about 3 major hits in America, but their catalog of songs is superb. There are so many of their songs that I think should have been hits... This Will Be Our Year is one of them. This song is from their amazing Odessey & Oracle album, released in 1968. It is truly one of the greatest albums of all time. The Zombies are still around today, with Colin and Rod Argent (original members), and are still putting out fantastic music.
