STeP TRAINING ON e-GOVERNANCE PROJECT LIFECYCLE (e-GLC) HELD The Department of Information Technology, Government of Goa, in association with Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Government of India (GoI) and National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG), had organized a 3 days training programme on e-Governance Project Lifecycle (e-GLC) and Government Process Reengineering (GPR) into 2 batches from February 20 to 22, 2014 and February 24 to 26, 2014 at the Conference Hall, Hotel Orion, Porvorim for the Officials of Agriculture Department, Government of Goa. The training witnessed a batch size of 34 Officers for the 1st batch and 39 Officers for the 2nd batch. The course was aimed to enable the Officers to effectively plan and manage various phases of e-Governance project development and implementation, of their Department, apply learning and good practices in e-Governance projects implementation to minimize the learning curve and to miximize the benefits for the Department, enhance operational efficiency in administration and service delivery, improve citizen focus and experience and minimize process complexity, cost and service delivery time and increase transparency levels and reduce administrative burden on Government. The Faculty for the training programme Shri A. K. Srinivas and Shri P. J. Nair, shared their valuable experience and knowledge with illustrative examples of ongoing Departmental projects during the 1st batch while Shri Vinay Kumar and Shri Nitin Arora conducted for the 2nd batch. On February 26, 2014, the sessions ended with a valedictory function in the presence of Shri Subhash Phal Dessai, MLA, Sanguem, Shri R. K. Srivastava, Principal Secretary for Information Technology, Shri P. Tufani, Director of Agriculture Department, Shri Nilesh Fal Dessai, Director, Department of Information Technology and Shri Giriraj Pai Vernekar, Special Asst to Chief Minister.
