SULLEN unveils preview of forthcoming debut album (for fans of Tool, Opeth, Katatonia and Meshuggah) Portuguese ambient/progressive metal supergroup SULLEN has just dropped a 6-minute preview of its highly anticipated debut album, «post human». With a musical past in common, SULLEN are recording their first piece of art since the fall of 2013, which will be released in February next year in digipack and digital formats (pre-orders from January 12 via sullen.pt and sullenpt.bandcamp). «post human» features 12 tracks mixed and mastered by Pedro Mendes at Ultrasound Studios [ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN, ANGELUS APATRIDA, SWITCHTENSE] in Braga. Artwork was conceived by J.D. Doria. SULLEN are a sort of second life of OBLIQUE RAIN. It features four fifths of the extinct progressive band, such as César Teixeira [guitars, vocals], André Ribeiro [guitars], Guilherme Lapa [bass] and Marcelo Aires [drums, also from COLOSSO], flanked by Pedro Mendes [guitars, W.A.K.O.] and João Pereira [keyboards]. Despite their roots, they seek for new approaches and wander along darker and taciturn paths, without constituting a resignation to the ethereal. They want, essentially, for the music to reflect their perception of the world, reality, of matter and spirit - a very personal journey which covers a diversity of experiences and moods; of tension and revolt; of purge and peace. sullen.pt sullenpt.bandcamp
