Working in collaboration with educators, School Specialty reaches beyond the scope of textbooks to help teachers, guidance counselors, and school administrators ensure that every student reaches his or her full potential. Job summary: Generate sales of selected products in an assigned geographic area. Present programs and products to current and potential clients through face-to-face meetings at the clients place of business or at special exhibits and conferences. Provide service through problem resolution and support in the form of information regarding product updates and coordination of training for customer’s staff. Represent company at local, state, regional and national conferences and exhibits. Manage and maintain business expenses within the assigned budget. Interact with education policy makers at the local and state level. Summary of essential job functions • Sell and market products in assigned territory • Travel to schools, administrative offices, service centers, conferences & exhibits throughout assigned territory • Make sales presentations to curriculum coordinators, consultants, administrators, teachers, review committees, school board members or any other individuals as requested by the customer. • Transport all sales & marketing materials needed including kit samples, support material, catalogs, etc. • Respond in a timely fashion to all inquiries • Follow up promptly on sales leads from all sources • Process all catalog and/or sample requests • Generate price quotes • Compose and produce appropriate correspondence. • Maintain correspondence and other appropriate documentation files. • Make all necessary travel arrangements, (i.e. airline, hotel reservations, auto rental, etc.). • Manage expenses effectively, staying within the specified budgets • Provide timely reports regarding prior months sales presentations and activities as well as upcoming months schedule • Provide 1, 3, 6 and 12 month forecast of sales by customer, based on adoption schedules, presentations and both new and re-order business. • Submit expense reports for legitimate business expenses on a weekly basis with all receipts and documentation • Exercises care within work environment to prevent injuries.
