Sandra Cobb and I are responding to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge - TopicsExpress

Sandra Cobb and I are responding to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge issued to us by our good friends Robert Canales & Angelica Ballesteros. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrigs Disease) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed. It is horrible. This is a great cause to participate in gathering awareness for & helping to donate money to in the name of research so that one day they might find a cure! You can donate money here: alsa.org/. So, continuing the quest for awareness, we nominate Nelson & Gloria Garcia, Eric & Cathy (Cobb) Schaefer, Oscar Trevino & Theresa Carrizales, Nannette Michon & Barry Claffey, my twin sister Candice Cobb & her son Josh Cobb, and our good friend Kenneth Anderson. You have 24 hours to accept the challenge or donate $100 to ALS...or both. We did the challenge and donated!
