Sapele Glory Must Be Restored! Date: 4-7-2014. LETTER TO HON JULIUS EGBEDI (The Transition Commitee Chairman, Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State) No 2, Sapele Olofofo Unugbragada Street, Mission Road, Inside the Burial Ground, Grave 102, Sapele, Delta State. The Office of the Chairman, Sapele Local Government Council, Sapele, Delta State. Sir, LETTER OF APPEAL In humility I greet your esteem office, even though the people are not happy with the recent treatment dished out to them by army personnels, they still want to contribute to the progress and stability of this town. There is no smoke without fire, hence I will go straight to my reasons of writing you this letter. Sir first I would like to condemn your negligence as regards your official assignment, as it has to do with your service to the people of Sapele, I know how many times I have visited your office, just to lay the complains and recommendation by some notables in this town, but never mind the informations as regards my visit to your office will soon be dished out to the public to see, all my visit proved abortive because you were not always on seat. My first point of call is the Zero attention you have so far displayed to the environmental sector of Sapele, It was a thing of shame during the cause of the demolition, that Hon Frank Omare and his team, were the once who gathered the dirt that was hip up behind former Texaco Filling Station by Abeke Road, that illegal refuse dump sight, has almost covered the main road, what a shame for a commission to do your work, when you are still in office. Hon Julius Egbedi some few months back you set up a task force commitee who were saddled with the responsibility of arresting any one who is found dumping dirty at any government road, but today where is that commitee, the members of that commitee lodged a complain to you that they need ID Cards to legalize their job specification, but you gave them a deaf ear, before they finally backed out. Almost all the refuse sight have been cleared by you, off late, but when you visit those sight now, you will see fresh deposit of refuse in them, When you go to New Road, Abeke Road, Ogorode, Mission Road etc these afore mentioned spots are all littered with dirts and unbearable odors. I am not trying to undermine your office or tell you what and what not to do, but the fact is that we all must work together in unity to make this town what we intend it to be. MY RECOMMENDATION: 1. I want you to re-en-state those Task Force Groups you set up earlier. 2. Process an ID Card for them that has the Local Government Stamp and you signature. 3. Set up a Disciplinary Commitee, something like a Mini-Court, where by defaulters can be prosecuted. 4. On each illegal dump spot let there be two mini offices, it can be constructed with a wood, like a phone book that will not cost much, one office at the beginning of the dump spot and the other at the end. 5. This task force workers should mount the mini-offices 1 at the beginning, the other at the end. 6. They should work in shift the first 2, from 5 a.m till 1pm and another 2 from 1pm till 7pm and another 2 from 7pm till 12 mid night. This is the only way this menace of illegal dumping of refuse can be tamed. 7. Before the commencement of work by this task force, there shoul be proper sensitization and information dispersal to the masses, so that when they are caught, they will not blame it on ignorance. 8. And lastly the council should also provide a means through which the entire populace can do away with their dustbins. Hon this will work believe me, I know these is one of the least amidst the problem that we are being faced with, but one thing is certain, that a right step, with the right action, will yield tremendous result. Secondly Sir, I must state clearly here, that the actions of NEPA!PHCN!BEDC is so annoying, irritating, uncompromising, uncomfortable, devilish and satanic, quite well we all agreed on a 4 hours off and 4 hours on deal, but it is very hard for them to keep to the time, for weeks now the sharing of electricity restoration has been so unbalanced and inconsistent, I have been to other neighboring towns around, towns like Jesse, Mosogar, Koko, these places are enjoying electricity without been programmed, why is every thing about Sapele always different. Is it that the council is not doing their job? Or is it a spiritual issue? I would have to say it, that there is a report about BEDC being bribed by Mission Road Sawmill owners, so that the electricity Should always be in favour of them, this is wickedly and dastardly, Im counting on you Sir, to prevail over this issue. If possible we want to know the person who is responsible for the alternation of the light and were it is been carried out, so that when we experience any partiality of any sort the person should be dealt with accordingly. With these I believe I have aired the groaning and pains of many and also initiated solutions as way of recommendation to combating these primary problems we are facing. Thanks. Thirdly I want to iterate the groaning of the people occupy the Urhakpa Road axis of Gana, Sapele, the road is impassable and un-mortorable, that road has turned car and okada owners to constand and regular visitors of mechanics and welders, because the road is so damaging. Sir the contract of this road was carried out by a notable personality in Delta State, I would not want to mention the name of the contractor and company for the now, belly 8 years into the construction of that road, the road has been so shattered, battered, littered and scattered, if you take a close look at the thickness of the cotter you will see that it is very slim and light. I am calling on you to please listen to the groaning of these people and effect the needed repair to that road. Thanks. Yours Faithfully. Comrade Wisdom. (A.K.A. The Grand Supretendent of this Page).
