Saturday, July 26, we celebrate the 24th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). On July 26, 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed the ADA into law. This landmark legislation was the nation’s first comprehensive civil rights law addressing people with disabilities. It prohibited discrimination in employment, public services, public accommodations, and telecommunications. We’ve come a long way and we have a long way to go.
