Save the Date 3/26/15 Featuring Wheeler Parker and Simeon Wright, Two cousins of Emmett Till who were present the night of Till’s kidnapping will tell their first-hand accounts of the whistling incident, the night of the kidnapping, and the events that followed. Don’t miss this chance to experience history! Thursday, March 26, 2015 6:00-8:00 p.m. Crestview Local Schools Performing Arts Center When fourteen-year-old Emmett Till left Chicago to visit family in 1955, no one ever thought he wouldn’t come home. Although Till fell victim to the rules of a society characterized by prejudice and hate, his death was not in vain. Till’s death was the event that sparked the American Civil Rights Movement. Crestview Local Schools will be hosting cousins of Emmett Till, Wheeler Parker and Simeon Wright, author of Simeon’s Story. The Traveling Emmett Till Exhibit will also be on display.
