Saw, The Butler. After watching it and reflecting on, The Legend - TopicsExpress

Saw, The Butler. After watching it and reflecting on, The Legend of Baggar Vance (I know, somewhat random) why is it that Hollywood cant get actors to speak with the correct accent? Its almost as laughable as all the Borgias being spoken with an English accent (apparently there are no Italian actors available to portray their own history.) But I digress, Charlize Theron tried her best but, ummm- no. The only thing worse than Matt Damons golfing technique was his southern accent. The only character with a decent southern accent was Jack Lemons character as a child, and the young man happened to be from Charleston. But on to the Butler. The actor portraying LBJ (Im not even going to take the time to look him up) had NO Texan accent but LBJ was all Texan accent. Geez. While both have a distinct drawl, a south-un accent is has a light, lilting sound to it, very gentle to the ears. (Martin Sheen had the perfect southin accent in, Gettysburg.) A Texas accent is similar but has a harsher sound to it; (lilting is not allowed in Texas) and sometimes its hard to listen to- that was LBJ. All that money but no talent, or to paraphrase LBJ, That boy playing LBJ was all hat and no cattle.
