Saw the CHCH spot on the kids packing up holiday baskets for Good Shepherd to distribute today. While I approve of kids doing this kind of thing, what they were packing make my gut sink a little. The point of these special boxes is supposed to be that people get stuff to make a decent holiday meal. But in the video theyre running, theyre packing mini wheats, no-frills mac and cheese and tubs of peanut butter. All of which are pretty bad for you if you take a look at the lables, nevermind not helping to provide that special holiday season feeling. I really hope there is more to these than that horrible box the TiCats gave out last year. Because I cant think of anything more sad, more soul-crushing than feeding your kids mac and cheese for christmas dinner. Id be destroyed.
