Science Success! Congratulations Joanna Oreb (Yr 10) Joanna has just been accepted for the Qld Junior Physics Olympiad. This is a prestigious 5 day non-residential program at UQ that aims to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills aswell as an appreciation and understanding of Physics. With her successful application she will now get the opportunity to participate in a range of hands-on experiments, forums and workshops about quantum physics, relativity and cosmology and even learn how to juggle and understand the physics behind it. Well done Joanna. Congratulations Andrew Douw (Yr 12) Andrew attended the National Youth Science Forum in January this year has since applied for a position in one of the annual International YSF programs that are run all over the world. The programs attract the best and brightest students from around the world to take part in a week-long forum that addresses a broad range of scientific subjects. The great news is that out of 450 students who attended the 2014 NYSF, Andrew is just one of the seven Australian students selected to attend the National Youth Science Week in Pretoria, South Africa for about 3 weeks during the next school holidays and the beginning of next term. This is an outstanding and life impacting achievement.
