Seems like a lot of people are doing well going into the fall season around here. While we were extracting the First Blood Gold Pocket, it seems that one of the local placer miners turned up a nice big fat nugget that tipped the scales at nearly 16 ounces! Its now in possession of a local gold buyer who only reported that it was found on a tributary of the Rogue River here in Josephine County and that the miner has been working the property for years. While I didnt see the nugget first hand, I did see a few photos and it is a large lump of pock marked gold with manganese staining. These physical characteristics suggest that it originated from the ancient channel that criss-crosses back and forth between Galice and Lower Grave Creek.
