JOB SUMMARY: The eBusiness Business System Analyst will be responsible for defining foundational requirements for new capabilities and functions in support of our Travelers eBusiness digital strategy. As mobile and social platforms become increasingly prevalent in the marketplace to conduct business, this has become an important area of focus for our team as we implement new solutions. The business system analyst will need to feel comfortable driving discussions around these new and emerging platforms and help determine the best way to utilize these new technologies to build business solutions. The eBusiness Business System Analyst must be able to synthesize current state processes, operating models, and ways of working in order to define new, digitally oriented clarity on requirements. The role will work across a diverse stakeholder group, driving consensus, and creating a shared understanding of detailed requirements in conjunction with technical delivery. Leveraging knowledge of business goals, contemporary digital platforms and technologies, the eBusiness Business System Analyst should demonstrate the ability to translate strategies and visionary statements into detailed requirements for technical delivery. This job typically acts as a team lead. The Business Systems Analyst provides direction, coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESP. (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS): This role is execution focused, and will be responsible for developing project deliverables in an agile framework. -Ensure the solution (people, process and technology) meets the program and/or project objectives, and is aligned with business and IT strategic direction. -Collaborate with project leads to determine how requirements will be approached and managed for a particular project. -Collaborate with project leads to develop requirements work plans, identify task dependencies, develop estimates and determine resource skill requirements; support risk management and change management activities. -Responsible for the success of the Requirements Definition Process for assigned work with limited supervision. -Identify appropriate subject matter experts and stakeholders to participate in requirements sessions. -Elicit, analyze, specify and communicate business, system and implementation requirements. -Ensure the requirements are unambiguous and understandable by both business users and solution delivery teams. -Work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements effectively based on business value, risks and constraints. -Effectively identify and manage requirements conflicts and issues to resolution. -Ensure that requirements are understood and approved by all stakeholders. -Manage requirement traceability and changes throughout the project lifecycle. -Validate the solution (people, process and technology) meets the business capability, product or system objectives. -Ensure the test strategy and test plans adequately cover the requirements. Assist in defect resolution. -Maintain documentation of current state systems and processes. -Assist in development of training materials and business implementation/transition activities -Simultaneously support multiple initiatives as assigned. EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE: -Bachelor degree in Business, MIS or other related field -7+ years in business systems analysis or equivalent role. -7+ years experiences supporting business technology systems. -3+ years¿ experience in a leadership role on software delivery projects. -Experience on an agile team -User Story writing experience a must LICENSING OR CERTIFICATES: None JOB SPECIFIC AND TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Critical Thinking (Advanced): Actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication.
